Although we designed the KarAutoParts.ca site to make your surfing experience as simple and complete as possible, we may not have been able to address all your concerns. This list of questions should help to answer some of the most common information requests we get online from customers just like you.

Where can I get availability and price information for products sold in store?

Due to the many suppliers that we deal with (thousands of them, from all over the world) prices are subject to change every single day. To give you up to the minute product pricing we require a request for quote to be filed so that we can extend the lowest possible price. While we are planning to add such functionality in the future we pride our selves on our personal relationships with our customers and feel that a dialog between us is the best way to ensure that you get the parts you want. Parts orders once assembeled by our staff can be purchased over the phone or applied to a commercial account for qualifying customers. People who are looking to browse online may want to check out our most recent flyer by signing up for our newsletters.

Policies

Every business needs to define certain policies to make sure that it can run smoothly.
We want to be as transparent as possible, so here many of Kar Auto Parts policies.

Returns

You can return unused and undamaged products in person within 30 days. We are committed to providing the best customer satisfaction possible. We will gladly refund or replace any defective item and most non-defective items. However, we may charge a restocking fee for special orders, electrical items, or other products. If you are unsure if an item fits your vehicle or has a restock fee please inquire before purchasing.

Within 30 days of receipt of your order, you may return products that:

  1. Are in their original packaging
  2. Have original manufacturer information
  3. Are not used, installed, or disassembled
  4. Are not damaged due to incorrect installation
  5. Do not have missing parts, hardware or instructions
  6. ALL returns must be accompanied by the original receipt.

The following orders are not returnable:

  1. Custom or special orders
  2. Automotive repair manuals
  3. Electrical Parts and Components (Such as: ECU’s, Push Button Units, relays, air mass meters, etc)

Once we have received your return, conducted an inspection of the return, and verified that your return meets the above guidelines, a full refund will be issued. If any of the above criteria are not met Kar Auto reserves the right to offer store credit or may not honor a refund at all All applicable sales taxes will be refunded. The cost of shipping will be credited only in those instances that the return is a result of a company error made by Kar Auto Parts. No C.O.D. shipments will be accepted.

Items incorrectly shipped to Kar Auto will not be returned.
Items not purchased from Kar will not be accepted.

Core Returns

If you would like to return an item associated with a core return value, please submit your request through our Returns form and make sure that All fluids have been drained from the core. The core must be securely wrapped in plastic and sealed. Cores must be returned in the packaging used in the shipment of the order sent to you. Your core will be inspected to determine if the core is rebuild-able before you are credited your core charge. Core return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. These additional fees are not refundable.

Damaged Products

If your product has been damaged in shipment, please contact us directly within 24 hours of receipt of your product to begin the returns process. We’ll then contact you via email with further instructions on filing your claim. Damages left undiscovered for long periods of time will be found to be the customers fault as we have no way of knowing that the issue was caused before the part reached the customer.

Labor

We will not refund any labor costs incurred by you or the installer of the products purchased in store or on this website.

Warranty

Kar Auto Parts warrants that at the time of sale, all of our products will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 3 months or 5,000 km unless otherwise noted by product. Additional coverage may be supplied by the manufacturer which will extend the warranty period and will be honored at our stores. This warranty does not apply to Oil Filters and does not cover the commercial application vehicles. This warranty is limited to the parts replacement or the same value or store credit, Kar Auto Parts will not liable for any labor, additional damages caused by poor install or any other charges, incidental or consequential. If you have received a defective product, please review the manufacturer information included with your new product. If you wish to return it, please visit our returns form for more information.

Kar Auto Parts will not process warranty claims for the following situations:

1. Products that cannot be identified as Kar Auto Purchases. We check all returned products before issuing credits.
2. Damage caused by using the wrong parts or improper installation.
3. Products such as paint, lube and fluids which have been opened and used.
4. Returns without RMA form submission may not be accepted.

All return items will be credited current price. Complete refunds are only given with proof of purchase.
All returns are subject to a 15% restocking charge. Any products requiring repackaging will be subject to a 15% of repacking fee.
All returns must be done in person or sent as freight pre-paid and must be in resalable conditions with a copy of original invoice.
An annual stock return less than 3% of annual purchase will not be charged the restocking fee.
No returns will be accepted after 1 year from the purchase date.
All shipping shortage and damage claim must be reported to Kar Auto within 2 business days after receiving the shipment.
Return of over shipping items will be freight pre-paid by Kar Auto and free of restocking charge.
